Not the Best but Still My Favorite
The New York Mets aren’t the best team around but they have been my favorite team for many years. When I was a little girl my grandfather wasn’t very fond of the team. My neighbors however were huge Mets fans. That’s why when they would go to Met games they would bring me home hats and flags so I could parade around my grandfather’s apartment wearing him as a tease. As a little girl, I just thought I was receiving gifts. I didn’t know that they were doing it as a joke against my grandfather.
Since that day I have remained fond of the Mets. Although they are considered the underdog team, they make me want to root for them. Each year I secretly hope that the will come out as the winning team. No matter what anyone says, I never let them sway my way of thinking as to whether I like them or not. Believe me, many of my friends have tried to get me to switch over to the Yankees. I’m not sure if it’s because I liked them since I was little girl but no matter what anyone says to me, they will never get me to like another team other than the Mets.
I hope that someday I will convince my children to like the Mets just the way my neighbors convinced me to like them. It’s a good thing I found some direct tv dealsso I can watch the Mets even when I can’t go to the game in person!
